An Unofficial Guide to Staying Sane(ish) in your 20s

It was #WorldPoetryDay on the 21st March, and if you know me at all, you know that I LOVE me some poetry.

A lot of people think that they hate poetry. They think that it's boring, and outdated, and uninspiring. To those people, I always say the same thing: dude, you're just not reading the right poetry yet. It's one of the most exciting and current forms of literature out there, but unless you studied for an English degree (holla), you might not have come across any contemporary poets in recent years.

Why Zara's Ungendered Range Sucks

Grey, grey, grey... OOH, BROWN! Grey...

A couple of weeks ago, high-street fashion giant ZARA launched a brand new range of clothing that they're marketing as a separate, new category of style: 'ungendered' clothing.

'Hurrah!' yells the world. 'One step closer to breaking down these arbitrary gender limitations! No longer must we feel confined by our gender in expressing ourselves through the clothes we wear!'

Sounds pretty good, right? You're right. It does. In theory. And it completely would be... if that's what ZARA had actually achieved with this new 'cutting edge' range.

A Note On The Importance Of Self Care

Source: @asian.feminist

In a society that is obsessed with optimisation, with being able to achieve the most in the least amount of time, with working harder days and taking longer trains home... it gets pretty easy to neglect yourself.

We can't possibly go to bed an hour earlier tonight, because we've got that report to finish. We COULD repaint our nails before work this morning, but we could also file our tax return*. You know, the one that doesn't have to be filed for another three weeks? Yeah, that one.
