My Photoshoot Experience with Alex Cameron

Last Friday, I hopped on a train up to Cambridge to get some photos taken. Photos of myself. And who better to be shot by for the very first time than the AMAZING Alex Cameron, who has photographed everybody from Zoella to Emma Gannon?

I, like pretty much every other person in the world, can easily admit that I struggle with how I look sometimes. I've spent countless hours in the past wishing my nose was different, that I was a bit less gangly, and that my hair was more like the girls on the Wella adverts.

However in recent years I've started to care less and less how I look, and more about how I look after myself. And the simple reason for this? I care about other things more. I care more about writing, about reading, about exploring London and spending time with friends, and I'm definitely not up for wasting an afternoon when I could be doing those things staring in the mirror and feeling bad about myself.

I wanted to get these photos done because I thought it would be fun. Because I LOVED America's Next Top Model when I was younger, and I wanted to know what it was like to do that. And it was, amazingly fun, sitting in Alex's back garden, even the fifteen minutes I spent getting poked in the neck by twigs.

You may notice that I'm not actually smiling in any of these photos. There is a very good reason for that - I had no idea what I was doing, and I was too busy trying to smize... that I forgot to smile. Whoops.

I got the photos sent through this morning... and I love them. I'm not sure I'll ever be totally in love with how I look, but I love that I did something for myself, just because. When I look back at these photos in years to come, I'll remember the time I took a day off work, read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on a train up to Cambridge, had lots of laughs, lots of excitement, and got some gorgeous quality photos to use on my blog as a bonus.

My nose might not be perfect, but right now, I honestly couldn't care less.
